Our mission statement is simply ‘WIN – BUILD – SEND’

Reaching out to the lost with the awesome, ‘life-transforming, destiny-transforming’ message about Jesus Christ the Son of God ...so that they will be saved from God’s judgement against all rebellion against him and enter into a new relationship with him as followers of Jesus Christ. BAPTISM marks this reality.

NEW DISCIPLES become stronger in their love and knowledge of God and equipped to better serve Jesus and others, as they learn to OBEY what JESUS COMMANDED.

In obedience to Jesus authority as his DISCIPLES we GO out to MAKE NEW DISCIPLES. Jesus assures us that he will be with us in this work, even to the very end of the age. Whether this means all of us DISCIPLES being re-commissioned every Sunday to GO, or supporting others to GO perhaps overseas, or the identifying, training and sending of new ministry workers, we are committed to GOING in order to WIN more NEW DISCIPLES. This mission keeps on going to the very end of the age... It describes what we mean by gospel work. As the message of Jesus is preached, disciples are made and grown and the church is brought into being. The faithful church then concerns itself with continuing this gospel work to make and gather more disciples. It was Jesus who promised to build the church [Matthew 16v18], and Jesus who commissioned his disciples to be about this work [Matthew 28v18-20]. This is how we understand ourselves at One Way. We are a local gathering of disciples who want to be obedient to Christ’s command to make more disciples. In so doing we join with the rest of God’s people in other local churches round the globe in obeying this great commission from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Local Mission... As disciples in Margate and the surrounding area, who gather together as a church on Sunday mornings, we understand that when we disband again we are effectively being sent back out into the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, re-commissioned again – every one of us – as disciple making disciples. Outside of our main gatherings on Sunday mornings, we have organised ourselves into what we call ‘Gospel Communities’ – smaller groupings of disciples who are trying to realise our dream. [see ‘Strategy’ below]

Global Mission... As Jesus’ disciples in Margate we all want to support the efforts of other disciples around our world. With the peace and prosperity that we enjoy in our culture and society we can pray for and pay for gospel ministry to unreached people groups in the hardest places. We pray also that some of our number will foster a growing passion to be personally involved in some of these efforts, and even be sent as cross-cultural missionaries. We are open to any opportunities to be closely linked with particular gospel ministries overseas – ones that we can really get stuck into by visiting and building gospel partnerships.

New Leaders... Each disciple has gifts. As these gifts are discovered each disciple learns what their function in the larger body is. All disciples have a part to play. Some, we pray, will explore vocational gospel ministry as ministry workers, church planters, pastor-teachers, evangelists and more. It is the risen Lord Jesus who gives these gifts to his church [Ephesians 4v11-12]. He gives these gifts to his church to prepare all disciples for works of service. We are committed in this church and in our wider network to raising up new workers through ministry apprenticeships in particular and training in general. In all of this activity, summarised in this ‘WIN – BUILD – SEND’ mission statement we aim to make disciples who will make disciples.
