Sunday services are a central part of church life. Here we gather to serve and
encourage each other, learn more about God from his word, and bring our prayers and praise to him. We know that visiting a new church, or coming along for the first time can be daunting, and so we want you to have an idea of what to expect when you arrive at One Way.
What to Expect
We’re a friendly and informal church – think: family gathering! As you arrive you’ll be greeted by our welcome team, who are more than happy to show you around and answer any questions you may have.
Before the service there’s time to grab a tea or coffee and when you are ready to find a seat, wherever you like.
After the service we usually have morning tea. You can stay as little or long as you like.
There is no dress code for church, nor need to dress up unless it makes you feel more comfortable.
During the Service
Our church services usually run for between 1-1.5hrs. We pray, sing together, and hear the Bible read and explained. Once a month we have the Lord’s Supper (or ‘Communion’) where we celebrate and remember Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Everyone is welcome at church because we believe in a God who welcomes all people to come to know him through Jesus.
You are free to participate in church as much or as little as you like. You will not be pressured to take part in ways that make you uncomfortable.
Kid’s are an important part of our church family at One Way. We celebrate the joy and chaos their presence brings. Our service includes a creche for pre-school kids, and Kid’s Church program for kinder-Grade 2 kids where they can learn about Jesus in an age appropriate setting. All our programs are run by accredited leaders through the ChildSafe program.
During the service there is an opportunity provided for our members to contribute financially to a range of local and overseas mission. We do not expect visitors to give, so please feel free to let the giving bag pass by.
